Mortal Engines (2018) dpmdv - 9/10! Filmul e super din toate punctele de vedere. E de remarcat modul in care au fost mixate stiluri din Mad Max, Stapanul Inelelor, Razboiul Stelelor si Terminator, cel putin. ;D

Si mai e de remarcat faptul ca au scos un film in care partea negativa e chiar cea din realitate, ceea ce pare sa nu placa anglo-americanilor, tinand cont de cotatiile de pe pietele lor. ;D

O afirmatie interesanta facuta de Hava Siegelmann, Program Manager la DARPA, despre AGI:

"I don’t think we’re almost there in the technology for General AI. I think general AI is almost a branding for a very general idea. Lifelong learning is an example of that — it’s a very particular type of AI. We know the theoretical foundation of that already, we know how nature does it, and it’s very well defined. There is a very clear direction, there is a metric. I think we can reach it in a close time." ;D

"Andreas Schilling from HardwareLuxx gained access to pre-launch marketing materials and decided to share them via Twitter. The leak confirms that 2060 will be part of RTX brand, not GTX brand as speculated before Turing was announced."

"This is an obvious choice since RTX 2060 is still featuring Turing GPU, equipped with RT cores (for ray tracing)."

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 se asteapta sa fie lansata pe la mijlocul lunii ianuarie. Se mai stie ca o sa aiba 6 GB de memorie GDDR6.

E foarte posibil sa o mai tina si cu Navi pe o varianta de GCN, contrar sperantelor de mai bine. Pe planul publicat de AMD, "Next-Gen" apare pentru sfarsit de 2019, dupa Navi.

Man, nu era vorba despre raportul performanta/consum oferit utilizatorilor ci de incercarea de a anticipa raportul performanta/consum al arhitecturii Navi pe baza a ceea ce ofera arhitectura actuala.
Cu alte cuvinte, ceea ce ofera arhitectura actuala in raportul performanta/consum e irelevant in speculatia despre ce ar putea oferi arhitectura Navi pe tema asta.
Cu alte cuvinte, nu se poate merge pe ideea ca placile cu Navi vor consuma mult doar pentru ca cele actuale si anterioare consuma mult pentru ce ofera.

Heavily Overclocked RTX 2080Ti Averages 51.25 FPS with 3DMark Port Royal Raytracing Benchmark

"Swedish overclocker Tobias “Rauf” Bergström ranked first with a score of 11069, pulling well ahead of any competitor. He managed to average 51.25 FPS with a GALAX RTX 2080Ti overclocked to 2.640 MHz (core clock) and 2.088 MHz (memory clock), thanks to liquid nitrogen."

In conditiile astea a scos doar 51,25 FPS (si probabil doar in 1440p)... ;D

Deocamdata, cele mai performante placi video care necesită alimentare doar din slotul PCIe al plăcii de bază, cred ca sunt MSI GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GT OC si MSI Radeon RX 560 AERO ITX 4G OC.
