Vampyr tries to portray a dark story using innovative gameplay mechanics that rely on meaningful choices and powerful consequences. Despite how wonderful this may sound, a lot of the game‘s potential goes unrealized in a conflict between vision and budget. Unable to shake off the expectations set by Bloodlines and fighting to stay above mediocrity, Vampyr’s greatest achievement is taking a first step in redeeming the modern image of vampires.
