Parallel PI este un benchmark multithreaded proiectat sa testeze performanta procesoarelor multi core si a sistemelor multi processor.

Ideea acestui benchmark a venit multumita lui SuperPI – cel mai popular benchmark folosit de overclockeri in principal pentru a testa stabilitatea sistemelor avand procesoare cu frecvente ridicate la extrem. Sper PI insa este single threaded si ca atare nu poate testa decat performanta relativa a unui singur core din processor.

Parallel PI pe de alta parte este proiectat sa testeze atat performanta procesoarelor multi-core cat si performanta sistemelor multi processor.
