Posibil ca 7nm sa fie rezervat doar pentru ... ? Sunt momentan in etapa de risk production...

TSMC a lansat de mult timp (luni) productia de masa pentru cipuri comerciale pe 7nm si se pregeteste pentru generatia a doua de tehnologie pe 7 nm, "N7+". In 2019 vor intra in productie cipuri de toate dimensiunile pe 7nm, de la cele pentru mobile la procesoare si GPU de dimesiuni mari. AMD si Nvidia (precum si altii) si-au rezervat deja productia pentru cantitati mari de cipuri pe 7nm in 2019.

Despre alea inca nu se zvoneste decat in imaginatia ta.

Placa despre care se zvoneste ca va fi lansata in ianuarie (GTX 1150?) a scos 114206 puncte in OpenCL benchmark, vs ~73,000 cat scoate GTX 1050.

Se descurca daca vor. Depinde de ce performanta lasa si la ce pret. Daca scot RTX 2060 si GTX 1160 (tot pe arhitectura Turing, dar fara RT), pot sa faca la fel si in zona de performanta superioara. E motiv bun ca sa stimuleze vanzarile cand lanseaza si AMD placile cu Navi.

Probabil din cauza asta si incep cu asta mai slaba (GTX 1160), ca sa aiba ceva "nou" contra lui Navi.

Ar fi interesant de vazut si placi din seria 11xx fara RT in categoria superioara de performanta.

Alta arhitectura inseamna ca e altfel organizat "siliconul", cipul in sine, precum si modul in care sunt distribuite si procesate instructiunile. E normal ca se asteapta ca informatia sa fie procesata mai eficient. Si toata povestea nu se reduce doar la jocuri ci e valabila pentru toate domeniile in care sunt utilizate cipurile respective.
